LINE DOWN IN ROMANIA
When an auto manufacturer was facing a line down situation late in the evening, they needed to get crucial parts by the next day from half a world away.
Challenge
A client in Timisoara, Romania experienced a part malfunction on their auto line at 8 p.m. To have the plant running at full capacity by the next day, they needed a crucial part that was located in El Paso, Texas.
Solution
CNW evaluated all possible solutions immediately. Since there were no more flights out of the El Paso airport that night, we decided to air charter the shipment from El Paso to Dallas and then route the shipment overnight on the next flight out from Dallas to Frankfurt to Timisiora.
Outcome
The shipment arrived the next night after only 20 total hours of transit time, and prevented the manufacturing line from going down. CNW saved the client over $100,000 by combining domestic air charter with international NFO – as opposed to strictly using international charter.
