CHANGE OF PLANS
When an ordinary shipment, already in transit, changed to an urgent shipment, CNW stepped in to execute a change of plans.
Challenge
After a standard freight forwarder picked up five pallets of circuit boards in Shanghai, the shipment suddenly became urgent and was needed in North Carolina the very next morning. The freight forwarder, though, could not do better than two-day delivery.
Solution
CNW picked up the shipment directly from the freight forwarder’s warehouse, and – in no small feat – cleared Chinese customs the same day then sent the shipment on the only flight arriving on the east coast that same night using NFO service to New York. CNW then drove the pallets overnight to North Carolina just in time for factory opening.
Outcome
CNW saved the client 30 hours and avoided additional costs associated with a potential line down scenario.
