FIGHTING FIRE WITH SPEED
A grounded fire-fighting aircraft. A critical part half a world away. CNW made the connection.
Challenge
A fire fighter B747 was grounded on the tarmac in Tel Aviv due to a burnout in the circuit breaker on one of the auxiliary fire extinguisher pumps. A part was located in Seattle, but the dealer wasn’t 100 percent sure the part would fit this particular model. A part that would fit was located in Singapore, but it would take longer to get there.
Solution
CNW immediately rushed a courier to the Singapore location at 6 a.m., and hand carried the package on the next flight out to Tel Aviv.
Outcome
The replacement part was hand carried to the tarmac in Tel Aviv the same day just before midnight, and the plane was operational by morning.
