A life-saving bone marrow and blood sample in Haifa, Israel needed to move halfway around the world to Ontario, California, urgently. Mother Nature, however, had different ideas. When the sample landed in New York City, a heavy blizzard cancelled all flights out of the area.
CNW immediately retrieved the package from the airline, and hand carried it by train south to Baltimore – the closest airport with service to LAX. The courier was able to get the package on the next flight out to California, all while ensuring the cold chain packaging remained intact.
The life-saving shipment reached its final destination within the acceptable 24-hour window.
